Activists Represent the Credit Union Movement at Local Fundraisers

Last month, credit unions were well represented at the in-district fundraiser for Rep. John Nygren (R-Marinette).

At the event, Lynn Marie Hopfensperger and Dave Thone (Fox Communities Credit Union) and Dan Wollin and Kandi Betters (PCM Credit Union) connected with both Rep. Nygren and special guest Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-Green Bay).

As Chair of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, Rep. Nygren is a valuable legislator to have a working relationship with. Many thanks to these Activists for showing the strength and engagement of The Credit Union Movement!

If not in person, Legislators and candidates in your area may be holding virtual events. Keep an eye out for events and contact The League if you're interested in attending!

Grassroots Action Alert - Support S. 4117 / H.R. 7777

This week, Virtual Hike the Hill attendees will ask the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation to support S. 4117 / H.R. 7777, the Paycheck Protection Small Business Forgiveness Act.

You can add to their advocacy by sending a pre-written, editable message. Consider adding available stats on how your credit union has supported small businesses through PPP loans.

WCULAF Virtual Trivia Raises over $1,000

Earlier this month, Activists competed in a virtual team trivia event in support of the Wisconsin Credit Union Legislative Action Fund (WCULAF).

In just this one night, Activists raised over $1,000 that will be used to support credit union friendly candidates this fall!

After the success of this fun-filled (and educational!) evening, The League plans to host a series of virtual trivia events in October.

Keep your eye out and start forming your team for the next ones!

To make a contribution to WCULAF in the meantime, visit The League's Fundraising Accounts page for instructions for a credit card contribution to WCULAF.

Candidate Survey Responses

In August, a brief survey was sent to Wisconsin candidates for state and federal office to get their stance on credit union issues. Please note that incumbents who we have previously surveyed and who have met with Activists at past advocacy events were not surveyed.
