CUNA President Jim Nussle Featured in LaCrosse Advocacy Town Hall

This week, Activists from the LaCrosse area participated in a town hall with CUNA President & CEO Jim Nussle at Altra Federal Credit Union.  Nussle touched on the importance of touting The Credit Union Difference, noting the small dollar loans, personal care, and counseling provided by credit unions is often overlooked. He used the example of a local community bank promoting that they "put people first" to illustrate how other businesses are starting to "talk the talk." As member-owners and team members, we know credit unions walk the walk in improving financial wellness. NOW is a crucial time to focus on that.

Special thanks to the Advocacy Committee at Altra Federal Credit Union for creating the program on advocacy and inviting their own staff along with leaders from other credit unions in the area!

One way Activists help elevate awareness of The Credit Union Difference is by sharing People Before Profit stories (formerly REAL Solutions stories). Activists' stories bring the value of credit unions home for legislators, showing how the cooperative, not-for-profit, member-owned structure results in dollars and cents, financial security, and overall better wellbeing for their constituents.
