Chippewa Valley YPs Learn Importance of Credit Union Advocacy

Last week, The League's Government Affairs staff met with young professionals (YPs) from the Chippewa Valley Credit Union Chapter about the importance of credit union advocacy and ways YPs can easily engage.

The group discussed how credit unions can advocate for policy priorities and the value of The Credit Union Difference to members and communities.  With an increase in attempts by the Wisconsin Bankers Association to define what credit unions are, and what they do – the need for effective advocacy is crucial.  Credit unions’ impact is our story to tell.  The League also covered how YPs can contribute within their credit union, chapter, through the Grassroots Action Center and with credit unions' three political advocacy accounts.

Invite Legislators for Branch Tours During Financial Literacy Month!

In honor of Financial Literacy Month in April, consider reaching out to your legislators to set up a credit union branch or in-school student-run branch tour!

Branch tours give Activists the opportunity to build or strengthen relationships with policymakers, by showcasing The Credit Union Difference – in this case, credit unions’ unparalleled commitment to financial literacy.

Contact Tom if you have questions or would like assistance in setting up a tour.
