Over 450 Attend League Convention
On May 7-9, over 450 credit union professionals from across the state joined us for the 2025 League Convention in Wisconsin Dells! 

This year's Convention kicked off with an energetic opening by Brandi Stankovic, followed by a welcome address from League President & CEO Sarah Wainscott who had attendees on their feet showcasing the many ways we are connected (and stronger) as a Movement and celebrating our successes.

Corporate Central Credit Union and The League then held their joint annual meetings before leading into Convention's biggest keynote yet--Sharon McMahon. McMahon, #1 bestselling author of The Small and The Mighty and founder of The Preamble followed with an inspiring discussion on the profound impact of empathy in bridging societal divides and fostering inclusivity.

Credit Union Development Grant and The Difference Grant Now Open
The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation is now accepting applications through June 30 for its annual Credit Union Development Grant and The Difference Grant. 

The Credit Union Development Grant assists credit unions in need of support for technology- and operations-related expenses and upgrades that will measurably assist the credit union in serving its members, with preference given to credit unions under $100 million in assets.

The Difference Grant helps real consumers build financially strong, self-supporting families and communities by supporting innovative credit union services. 

 Reconciliation Bill Passes House, Tax Status Remains Secure
The credit union tax status is secured in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1), passed by the House Thursday morning (215-214). Members of Congress voted on the bill shortly after the House Rules Committee advanced it after an all-night meeting. The Senate will now take up the budget reconciliation package when Congress returns from Memorial Day recess. If the upper chamber passes a different version than the House, it would need to meet with House members in a conference committee resolve differences and be voted on by each chamber again before it can be sent to the president for his final signature. Read On >>

League Leadership Institute Registration Open
The League’s Leadership Institute, a virtual school held August through December, is designed to help emerging and mid-level managers build their leadership skills to more effectively prepare for succession planning and promotion. Removed NCUA Board Members Take Next Legal Step
Dismissed NCUA board members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka filed their opposition reply to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) cross-motion for summary judgment on Monday, arguing their removal violates a federal statute. The two were dismissed by President Donald Trump April 16, and filed a lawsuit April 28 seeking to be reinstated and nullify any agency actions taken with a single board member.
