Credit Unions Deliver: In-School Branch Bill Clears Legislature
In less than one month, from circulation to final vote, AB 990/SB 921 recently passed both the Assembly and Senate with bipartisan support!  The legislation allows employment at an in-school credit union branch to fulfill the required ½ credit of personal financial literacy for high school graduation formally recognizing the real world, hands-on financial education credit unions deliver in schools across the state.

Thank you to State GAC attendees for passionately sharing the impact of in-school branches with lawmakers and a special thank you to GAC members Teresa Riesterer of Blackhawk Community Credit Union and Jennifer Grinder of RIPCO Credit Union for bringing team members to Madison and testifying before the Senate and Assembly committees.

We will continue to work toward final approval, now that the bill heads to Governor Tony Evers' desk for signature. Stay tuned for updates!
