Credit Union Friend, Rep. John Nygren Resigns

On Wednesday, Rep. John Nygren (R-Marinette) announced his resignation from his State Assembly seat in order to pursue an opportunity in the private sector.

As Chair of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, Rep. Nygren was an important credit union supporter throughout his tenure in office. Whether during the annual State Government Affairs Conference, visiting credit union branches, or at in-district fundraisers, Rep. Nygren took time to speak with Activists and consider credit unions' priorities.

Rep. Mark Born Appointed Joint Finance Committee Co-Chair

Following Rep. Nygren's resignation, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos appointed Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) to take over as co-chair of the Joint Finance Committee.

Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) will serve as the Senate Co-Chair. Both will be serving their first terms as Co-Chairs of the committee.
