The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation

Since 2007, The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation (The Foundation) has invested over $2 million to promote the wellness of credit unions and the communities they serve. Awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency by Candid, The Foundation is mission-driven to promote credit union development, educate credit union staff and volunteers, support programming to enhance financial literacy, and assist the credit union system in times of need.

Legends of The Movement

In 2024, The Foundation has continued to increase its dedication to financial education, credit union development, credit union staff development, and disaster aid, and in 2024, The Foundation has made more impact than ever before! Over the past year our impact has continued to grow; we distributed a chart-topping $147,000 in grants, $20,000 in scholarships, and launched Legends of the Movement - a way for credit unions to honor the trailblazers that have dedicated their careers to The Movement in Wisconsin.

The Community Investment Fund (CIF) is a vehicle that allows credit unions to support the National Credit Union Foundation and state foundations, including ours in Wisconsin. The CIF provides almost two-thirds of the funding for key programs benefiting credit unions, their members, and the communities they serve. Credit unions investing in the CIF receive 50 percent of the dividend of their investment. The remaining 50 percent is shared equally between the state and national credit union foundations.
