The League is hosting a virtual trivia night on Wednesday, September 2 at 6:30 PM to benefit the Wisconsin Credit Union Legislative Action Fund (WCULAF)! Dust off those trivia skills and get ready to catch up with old credit union pals.

Yesterday, the Governor's Task Force on Student Debt held its fifth teleconference on combating the student debt crisis in the state of Wisconsin.

The League has elected to temporarily change Capital Eyes from a biweekly to a monthly message for June, July and August. The League is continuing our advocacy activities with state and federal officials, candidates, and regulators, ensuring we will have valuable content for the less frequent summer editions.

Earlier this year, UW Credit Union President/CEO Paul Kundert was appointed by Governor Evers to serve on the Governor's Task Force on Student Debt. Kundert's presence on the Task Force ensures credit unions will continue to play a key role in working to combat the student debt crisis.

State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) won Tuesday's 7th Congressional District special election, to fill the seat vacated by former Congressman Sean Duffy (R-Weston) last September.

Last Friday, the Federal Reserve Board announced it will amend Reg. D, deleting the six-per-month limit on certain savings account transfers at a time when access to these accounts are crucial.

On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Evers signed Wisconsin Act 185 in order to provide support for Wisconsinites impacted by COVID-19.

Last week, League staff, with League Board member and Fort Community Credit Union Chief Lending Officer Danielle Frawley, participated in a call with Congressman Bryan Steil (R- Janesville) and financial services legislative aids from the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation.

While COVID-19 has disrupted everyday life across the world, Wisconsin's credit unions have worked tirelessly to meet the evolving needs of their members and communities.

In late February, over 50 credit union Activists from across Wisconsin traveled to Washington D.C to participate in the 2020 Credit Union National Association Governmental Affairs Conference.
