After nearly 23 years serving as The Wisconsin Credit Union League’s (The League) President & CEO, Brett Thompson has announced his plans to retire in December 2024.

The National Credit Union Foundation's Development Educator program is a philosophy immersion experience that explores the principles shared by all cooperatives and challenges participants to apply this perspective to issues affecting members and local quality of life.

In February, several Northeastern Wisconsin credit unions in conjunction with Jake's Network of Hope decided to address the #1 reason girls miss school: lack of access to feminine hygiene products. Through a program called "We Gotcha Girl," volunteers packed hundreds of period kits to distribute to local area schools in addition to a $10,000 donation.

On March 21, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers signed two important bills that The League strongly advocated for to combat financial elder abuse and modernize credit union state statutes.

The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation is proud to sponsor FiCEP for the ninth year. The Enhanced Financial Counseling Certification is once again being offered to credit unions at a reduced cost – thanks to the support of The Foundation.

In February, at a ceremony held at the Wisconsin State Capitol, Governor Tony Evers honored the award recipients of the 2023 Governor’s Financial Literacy Awards. Educators Credit Union, Fort Community Credit Union, Royal Credit Union, and WESTconsin Credit Union were among the recipients.

On March 3, sixteen credit union champions were inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in honor of their significant contributions to the credit union industry.

From February 10-18, over 100 participants moved it for The Movement, breaking a sweat and raising $18,000 to support the wellness of Wisconsin's credit unions.

This week, over 225 Wisconsin Credit Union Activists shared The Credit Union Difference with their elected officials at The League's annual State Government Affairs Conference in Madison.

The Minnesota Credit Union Network, Montana’s Credit Unions, and the Wisconsin Credit Union League have formalized their partnership, Tristate Collaborative, LLC, which jointly forms strategic endorsement relationships with partners to help their credit unions best serve their members.

This year's annual League Convention & Expo will be held May 8-10 in La Crosse, amidst the tall bluffs that line the Mississippi River in its historic downtown district at the La Crosse Center!
